With the enormous selection of beverages that greets us at the supermarket every time we go, it still comes as a surprise to many that tea is the world’s most popular drink. And with the recent green tea health craze, tea consumption by Americans is at or near an all time high. But recent studies have shown that green tea, as well as white and black tea, which is closely related to green tea, might have skin healing properties that go beyond what most acne medications are capable of. With green tea now available in a multitude of forms, it can be fairly intimidating to research, so let’s take a look at which forms of green tea will help keep the pimples away.
Of course, the best place to start is with a cup of delicious green tea per day to drink. Talk about enjoying your medicine! One of the great things about drinking green tea for the medicinal benefits is that you can adjust the taste to suit your personal style. If you like it with a little sugar or a little cream, it won’t affect the healthy benefits of the tea.
Second, direct green tea extract is a great way to introduce the healing benefits of green tea directly to your skin. You can apply drops of green tea extract directly to already formed pimples and then spread extract over parts of your face and other problem areas to help prevent acne formation.
Finally, green tea is sprouting up in many different skin care and acne products, including gels, creams and other such treatments. As far as these products go, the best advice is to try them if you like, but they likely won’t be any more effective than using direct green tea extract. Many of these products do combine green tea with aloe, lanolin and other skin friendly ingredients, however, so if your skin isn’t getting enough of those things, it might be a worthwhile investment.
