Acne Scar Treatment

Nobody wants to live with scars on their face. With severe acne, the scars that can be left behind can be very difficult to deal with and may actually be something that prevents some people from living life to the fullest.

With acne, the scars can be just like any other scar caused by trauma to the skin. There might be redness or loss of skin pigment. There could be a smooth, raised look. Or there could be a ridged look that is similar to a burn mark. With so many different appearances, acne scars can be something that you might want to get rid of.

If you have acne scars and want to find a good acne scar treatment, you might want to try some natural acne scar treatments before you consider using something more invasive, such as laser treatments, acne scar surgery, or skin grafting.

Natural Things to Try:

Aloe Vera is very healing for many burns and injuries, including acne and acne scars. You can find Aloe Vera in topical ointments, creams, lotions, and even in some specially made soaps. Aloe plants are easy to raise and keep in your home so that you’ll always have Aloe Vera on hand. To get the Aloe from the plant, simply break the long leaf and squeeze out the thick aloe juice which is inside.

Lemon juice is another thing that is easy to use and has healing properties. It also has an effect similar to bleach and can lessen the redness which may have been left behind by acne. When you use lemon juice, you will want to wipe it over the affected area and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, wash gently with water.

Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil which is great for the skin. If you have sensitive skin, you should probably dilute it by mixing it with either olive oil or canola oil.

There are also many supplements that can be taken to help heal acne and acne scars from within. Vitamin C, Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin E, Zinc, Chromium, and especially Vitamin A are all very good to take to help get rid of acne and to help your skin begin to heal.

If the flare-up is sudden, it could be from food sensitivity or an allergic reaction. Sometimes, acne that appears on areas of the body other than the face is actually a reaction to foods that have been eaten. Face acne can be a food reaction, too, but when acne suddenly appears on the back, arms, legs, buttocks, or any other area, try to figure out if you’ve eaten anything new. Tracking down a food sensitivity might save you from further attacks of acne.

Using natural acne scar treatments can be done along with other medicinal or more invasive acne scar treatments. With the availability of over-the-counter natural acne treatments that are easy to get and easy to use, it would benefit most people to try the natural way first. Being healthy, looking healthy, and taking care of the acne scars that have been bothering you can all be achieved together.
